Setting up an XBOX with NO AUX ports in TV

Okay, I'm trying to set up my XBOX in my room. I DO NOT have  any aux ports in my TV so I have to use the aux ports on the dish box (so I think). I have a digital analog converter set up in there as well, as to why that is there I am not sure. I am at the point where I can switch the remote to AV1 and actually turn on and off  the xbox from the dish remote. However, I can not seem to be able to switch inputs to get to the xbox screen. It powers on and off with the remote from using the codes. I originally had it set up as follows. Xbox into dish box, dish box to converter, and then the converter had a coaxial to the TV. I also do not have the ability to pause, rewind, fast foward etc...in my room. I am quite frustrated and would LOVE some help. Thanks for the attention to this matter

Your DirecTV Receiver has no AUX inputs.  It's strictly an output-only device.  If your TV lacks sufficient AV INPUTs for your XBox, then you can buy a Video Selector Switch at places like BestBuy, Radio Shack, etc.

the H23 is an HD receiver.  only HD DVRs have the ability to pause live TV.  do you have WHDVR?
