Setting up Directv at Tailgate
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I need the power inserter with a Phase III 18" X 20" Dish Antenna, Model No: AU2-F1 and receiver model H23 (photos attached)? I picked up the dish for use at the tail gate and had no luck last weekend finding a signal, but did not have the power inserter. If not, any advice in finding a signal or do I need a newer model dish? Any help will be greatly appreciated as I would like to try again this Saturday. Thanks!

No. The H23 will power that dish itself. That dish should work fine if you're happy with just SD channels. Be sure to get the proper aiming coordinates from http://www.dishpointer.com. The correct this type in the Satellite Setup is "Multiswitch" and "02: 3-LNB (18"x20")".
