shared key not accepted with wireless adapter

I just had service installed today 12/30/11. I have a whole home dvr, and the wireless cinema adapter. I have a wrt300n linksys router. If I set my wireless to WPA Personal and TKIP for the encryption the wireless adapter connects. However I want to use wpa2 personal with TKIP or AES as the encryption. Can someone explain how I get the adapter to work with those settings? I have reset both the dvr and the adapter and I have disconnected my router. As I said it works with TKIP and WPA Personal but not with WPA2 personal and AES or TKIP for the necryption. Thanks for any help in advance.
