I have 2 show recorded and tried to watch one in the bedroom and nothing. The DVR is in the living room and HD receivers in 3 other rooms

Try doing a red button (inside card door) reset on the DVR.

rett73,

Personally, I'm still a little confused regarding your equipment:0(

Correct me if I am wrong:

1)HD DVR in living room

2)HD receiver in bedroom

3)HD receivers in 2 other rooms.

Total of 1 HD DVR and 3 HD receivers.

Now, HD DVR in living room shows no networked DVRs found.....this is "normal", because there are no other HD DVR's on the network for it to find(only receivers).

And....the HD receiver in the bedroom also says no networked DVR's found.....this is NOT normal as it(as well as the other 2 HD receivers in the other 2 rooms) should detect the HD DVR in the living room.

It would be helpful if you provided the HR2x-xxx and H2x-xxx model numbers(behind flap on authorization card door on right front side of box) for each of the DVR's/Receivers listed above.

Once we are absolutely certain of each box's model# and location and that you have performed the red button reset on all of them we will go from there.

You are correct on the assortment of receivers.......My HD receivers are all H23-600, 3 of those in the bedrooms and a HD DVR HR21-700 in the living room. I did the red button on the HD Receivers and they still say No networked DVR

Did you in fact reset the DVR?

If you mean by pushing the red button, yes. I did that one first

If it were me, I'd call Directv and ask that they return and finish the job.  Didn't the installer demonstrate the system for you?  Did you sign off that you accepted the installation?  Maybe your system didn't get authorized.  If it didn't, it won't work.  Directv has to send your system an authorization signal.

dcd,

Good point.....rett73 should log on to his/her online account on directv.com and go to their Account/Services and see if Whole Home DVR Service says "Authorized" or "Not Available"(meaning the installer did not call and have the service activated.

This is getting frustrating, the installer was really good, and he did show me in the living room how things work. I honestly thought, how can it really be to do this...well i guess i was wrong huh? Anyhow...... I hope this is just a small issue and we will get it resolved as i do like direct tv over Time Warner.

You didn't by any chance plug an Ethernet cable into one of the receivers did you?  We see that all the time, and it will disable the Whole Home operation.
