SONIC TAP music channels

you can send them an e-mail by login in to your account and click on the contact us link.  not sure if this will ever change that, but you could give it a try.  DirecTV will not see your post here

I thought for sure DIRECTV monitors these post and reads them,surprised they don't. They'd learn from them. I think the posters here know more about DIRECTV then DIRECTV does !

I sent E-mails and called DIRECTV many times on this subject ,they don't know how to respond. The only people nice in all this has been SONIC TAP ,they respond quickly and keep telling me that they DO SEND the month & year song came out in the song title field.

They said recenty they will try to get DIRECTV to pass this info,you would think DIRECTV would want to pass all the info from SONIC TAP they pay for.

Sometimes I think DIRECTV feels ONLY DIRECTV knows what is good . . . they are SO WRONG !!!!!

Seeing as you feel that way I'll give you a drop of insight.  Although I can see that you feel the info you requested is important, consider this.  There are approximately 7,000 posts to the forums each month.  I read maybe 6,500 of those, and have for a few years.  I cannot recall a single instance prior to this that anyone expressed any interest in the data you discuss.  During this same period there are likely a dozen or more posts each week seeking some other enhancement to the system.  The requests cover a wide variety of topics.  My point here is that Directv is in the TV and movie delivery business and their HD systems are very complex.  There is no possible way they coud add all of the features that are requested, but I'm sure if you email them your idea, someone will look at it and catalog the idea for future consideration.  It would obviously take a major redesign of the music channel screen saver.

Wow ,you read all these post ,or most of them !!!   I'll bet you know more about DIRECTV then DIRECTV does !

As far as the request I made. You are right about DIRECTV being in the TV business.

But to add the YEAR & MONTH to these music channels is no complicated task at all ,SONIC TAP ( the supplier of the music channels DIRECTV uses ) already supplies this info in the SONG TITLE FIELD . . . it is there !

It can simply be passed on ,no need to redo music channel screen saver or anything ,just pass the info that is already available.

I maybe the only one asking for this but I know many that subscribe to cable TV ,the music channels they have do have the YEAR & MONTH the song came out ,they always proudly talk about this wealth of info the music channels on their cable TV supplies.

I wish DIRECTV would simply pass the YEAR & MONTH the song came out ,they are paying SONIC TAP for it and SONIC TAP supplies it.

Please if you are anyone else out there would like to see the MONTH & YEAR that a song came out on the DIRECTV " SONIC  " MUSIC CHANNELS . . . PLEASE send a comment directly to DIRECTV requesting this.

I have been told over & over by SONIC ( the supplier of the music channels to DIRECTV ) that they do provide & pass on to DIRECTV the MONTH & YEAR the song came out , on the 1940's - 1990's music channels,the info is located in the SONG TITLE field  . . . IT IS DIRECTV THAT IS NOT PASSING THIS MONTH & YEAR info.

I have requested this info from DIRECTV.

Please let DIRECTV know,they need to hear from others if you would like this info.

I have out of state friends with regular cable  and the music channels they get all show way more information about the music then DIRECTV's music channels.
