Sony RF 400 headphones to TV or DTV receiver?
I have a new Samsung S90 TV without all the in and out jacks of older TVs. It does have optical connections. My headphones don't work plugged into the sole TV jack so wondering if I can plug headphones into back of the Direct TV receiver?

Depends on what DTV receiver you have, what is the model number?

It is model HR-44-500. Date of 9-13

Then you should be able to connect the transmitter to the composite red/white audio outputs on the back of the HR44,

That did not work but thanks. I'll go back to Best Buy where I got the TV and who also carries the Sony headphones and they should be able to explain. I think I need an optical connector for the TV. Bought the headphones several months prior to new TV off Amazon so maybe not compatible. Installer mentioned optical cable but I didn't get the details while he was at house.
