STOP CALLING!!!! TWELVE TIMES TODAY!
WOW, 10 years ago, had my Directv service installed. Over the years, the dish has moved slightly and signal is weak. I called to have someone come out to reset the dish to get full signal back, said I was happy to pay for the service call.
Since then, have had 4 text messages, 2 e-mails and 6 calls TODAY, to confirm the appointment for tomorrow, to reconfirm for tomorrow, to "troubleshoot" the problem over the phone that's already been troubleshooted, to confirm the appointment again, to tell me to confirm the appointment, to tell me that a call would be coming to confirm the confirmation of the appointment. Wow, talk about ANNOYING!. 8:00PM at night and they're still calling! ENOUGH.
Confirm once, and show up for the service call, that I'M PAYING FOR! That's it. Very simple. I wish I had just called a non-Directv service person to come fix it. My goodness.

Sorry, make that THIRTEEN, whoops, as I type this, now FOURTEEN. Two more texts. Once again to re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-confirm the appointment and to confirm that I don't have COVID. Understand the last one, that's fine, But, 12 of the other 13 are OVERKILL!

Hi @nikjoans! The ACES' comments were spot on, thanks @shannon02 and @teetertotter!
In addition, though it is important to keep get appointment updates via phone calls and emails, you may want to block robocalls by following the easy steps listed.
For future appointment status, concerns, updates, or cancellations, you can manage them easily through the myAT&T app.
If you need further assistance, please reach out.

It's not a computer glitch. All the calls have been from humans. Had one more call this morning. And now, someone just showed up at my door, who was not the technician coming to fix the problem. This is just absolutely RIDICULOUS. He showed up unannounced to "discuss my account". LAST TIME I WILL EVER CALL DIRECTV for service. In fact, after this, may just cancel the account. 14 calls,texts,e-mails yesterday,2 more today and someone shows up at my door?? Just uncalled for.

Hi @nikjoans! Apologies for the frustration the unwanted calls have caused.
You may register on the national do not call list . Additionally, sign in to your DIRECTV account on the website and opt out of receiving emails.
We hope this helps.

I'm sure I'll be receiving more follow up calls, but to the technician's credit who showed up to fix the issue, he was very kind. Resolved the issue quickly. So ZERO complaints with the actual service call itself. Just all the nonsense that took place from the time I scheduled it Monday night through Wednesday morning. Had DirecTV simply confirmed once, even twice this morning, would have been a very satisfied customer. But, 16+ calls/texts/emails, plus an unexpected knock at the door were just WAY beyond anything I've ever experienced.
Happy it's resolved. I post this not to complain or whine, but in hopes that DirecTV will see it and make some changes as all of that was not necessary or useful in any way shape or form.
Thank you to Tim (the service tech who resolved the issue).

But the computer placed the call then transferred it to the next available person.

Yes this is definitely NOT the usual behavior of DIRECTV after a service call is scheduled. There was definitely a computer glitch or faulty system involved to cause all of the problems. I have been with DIRECTV for 25 years and never have I ever had an issue like this with my several calls over the years for changing out receivers and adjusting the dish that was too high for me to reach. Hope this helps solve the concerns
