Straming Media to the HR24-200 HD DVR from my computer, it only lists the C root drive & my media is stored on my D drive.

When trying to Stram Media to the HR24-200 HD DVR from my computer, the HD DVR only lists the C root drive & my media is stored on my D & E drives. How do I search the other drives. (Windows suggest you install the OS on one drive & data on another drive, as I have done). I have 17000 phots, 400 music CD's & 30 DVD/Bluray movies recorded on 3 other dives. Only Doctuments are on C drive. I have 3 drives, total 2TB. Is DirecTV going to improve the firmware for their HD DVR soon? Or how do I list the other drives?? Thanks for the help.

Peds is right on reposting this in the right tread, but your problem is simple. Make sure that your slave drives are also labled to share within your Home network as well or just the music and photo files on those drives. Your music must be in the Mpeg3 format and photos must be Jpeg. Don't bother about your dvd files since the DVR will not be able to read them anyways. Good Luck.

Actually, the default Windows Media Player server and Mediashare only looks in the default folder that Windows creates for media. My attempts to get WMP to look elsewhere have met with very limited success.

The easy fix is a 3rd party software. I use TVersity version 1_7_4_1 and under Library you can specify where the media is stored. It will find your data no problem. The current version of TVersity will not work so when offered an update simply click the okay button.

If you wish to carry this further, please do use the Mediashare forum, keeps things tidy.

FYI DCD unless one is using Win 7 then the option that I refered is probable, got it going on my base computer. If someone was using anything lower then Win 7 then the 3rd party software is needed.

In Media Player, click Organize/Manage Libraries/Videos/Add/browse to the Folder you wish to include/Include folder/OK.  You have to add one folder at a time.  Don't be surprised if the receiver cannot play your videos, though.

Time to try TVersity, etc?
