stupid newbie question
I'll be getting the premier and extra HD package with the dual tuner DVR at the end of the month.
I've read is some posts about alternate receivers. Can I be directed to some information about these? I have some difficulty understanding why Direct TV would authorize other companies to produce receivers capable of receiving Direct TV, being they are a Big Business that wants to make the Most Money it can. 🙂
From what I read about freezes, non-recordings, and release of buggy software, I wonder if I should buy a cheap reliable backup which can record in HD, for if/when my receiver fails.
[I had to choose a receiver model below. I expect it will be the HR21.]
