Switch Receiver

My HDDVR Receiver is in the bedroom and I would like to move it to the living room and put the living room HD receiver in the bedroom.  The cable for both receivers runs through the bedroom.  Can I just change the cables that are connected to the receivers?

I also have a non hd dvdr in the den and need to put an extension on the cable in order to move the box to a different wall.

Does your HD DVR have one or two coax cables connected to its SAT INPUT jacks?

Both boxes only have one coax cable attached.

Good. Then you probably have a Single Wire Multiswitch system.  Press the Receiver's "Dash (-)" button to verify that it echo's "SWM Connected".  If it does, then you can simply swap the Receiver and HD DVR.  Just disconnect the SAT IN cable from the back and don't disturb any other cables.

unplug the receivers first then disconnect the coax, then reconnect the coax first then plug in.  solidsignal.com has barrel connectors male to male to extend the other RG6 coax

Thank you on the cable information.  I will get the connectors next week and fix that problem.  Merry Christmas.
