Tailgate Dish

I just want to confirm the setup of the dish we are using for our tailgate. The model number is SF2-D3 for the dish, and I believe it is the old Phase I 18 inch round dish with 2 outputs. I am connecting to a H23-600 receiver. I did just a dry run hook up without really aiming the dish accurately and got the message on the TV that "Tuner 1: Not acquired". I just wanted to confirm that this message is because I did not have the dish aimed correctly and not because there is an equipment compatability issue? I know previous setups with a different dish and box, we would get the beeping on the signal strenght screen, but it seems based on what I have read the Directv has decided to remove the loevely function that was very helpful. We have a compass to use when setting up for the tailgate, but my post is merely to make sure that the equipment should work together and just needs to be aimed correctly. We also have a Slimline 5 LNB dish, but figured this is easier to setup for a tailgate since we do not need all the HD channels. Just want to make sure we can at least get ESPN.

Thanks for any help and advice you can give. I know once we get it the first time, should be a piece of cake.
