Tech Support

I work at a hotel that has DirecTV as their carrier.  I am absolutely stunned by the poorest of customer service DirecTV offers.  Call after call after call....we are refused assistance in fixing DirecTV's issues.   The contracting technician flatly refuses to come to the hotel property when needed.   Mediacom is down the street.  Owners need to switch to Mediacom as they offer outstanding service.  They have 20 hotels...  drop DirecTV.

DirecTV may be the carrier, but most likely they don't support that installation. Most hotels (Multi-Dwelling Units, or MDUs) are supported by third party companies, not DirecTV itself.

Yes, you are almost certainly not a directv customer. Your equipment and installation is supported by a third party, and that means directv is not allowed to provide your support because you don't have a contract with them.
