The new HD Guide cannot switch to SD wihtout holding EXIT and switching the entire signal to SD!!!???

The new guide came today without warning. It only works in HD properly, so if you are using the RF or other SD output for say another TV, it cannot switch between the two without having to press the EXIT key to switch the entire signal to SD. This has ruined our TV watching experience. For example, we have HD and reciever in Living Room. We have a SD TV hooked by in-wall RF wiring to same receive
r in Kitchen. Now it is nearly impossible to control it on Kitchen TV. We use this often to monitor and control what our kids our watching. BUMMER. Looks like I'll be switching to ComCast soon! Called Directv and they said there is nothing they can do. Can not even go back to the old guide that was working fine before! At least display the HD guide with SD signal like the station signal itself does automatically!

Please, say there are plans to FIX this software issue! I cannot belive you are taking away this functionality that has been work well since we had the systems installed!

No need to post the same question in multiple forums.

I have attached to my one HD tv one HD DVR, one BD player, and one dvd player. That should not be considered an unusual set up.

Yet suddenly if I switch from the satellite to the dvd player, I am confronted by this big error block that tells me I have to exit out of HD to SD and then back again. I did not have to do this before and don't see why I need to do this now. This is a downgrade.  I pay enough for this service without having to pay more for special equipment for standard set up.  Over the satellite I even switch from HD to SD channels. This seamless switching was there before and should be restored.

You may consider it a "downgrade", but that's the way it is now.  See the workaround posted in post #2.
