transiet system setup

I work as a field engineer for an oil field services company which requires me to stay out at rig locations. I usually stay at location from 2 weeks - 2  months at a time.  I have noticed that other guys have directv setups at thier trailers and was wondering what all this would require. Any information would be most appreciated.
