trying to set up at summer home, help please

Hey everyone.  I'm at my summer home and am trying to set up a dish i bought today with my current receiver.  So far I have not had any luck.  My receiver is a HD24-100 and my dish info is as follows from tag:

Dual LNB

Model No. ZKF-G52N.

I'm getting a 771A error which from what I read is vague.

I have my box connected to the dish with coax; is there supposed to be anything in between?  Thanks Guys

Just connect that Receiver directly to one of the dish's coax outputs.

Dish Type Setup Steps:

From the Menu

  • Using the Arrow buttons navigate to - select Parental, Favorites, Setup - press Select button
  • Using the Arrow buttons navigate to highlight - select System Set Up - press Select button
  • Using the Arrow buttons navigate to highlight - select Satellite - press Select button
  • Using the Arrow buttons navigate to highlight - select Repeat Satellite Setup - press Select button
  • Follow the on screen instructions and press the - Dash button
  • A new screen will be shown
  • Use the Arrow buttons navigate to Switch - then press the Select button
  • In the drop-down box use the Arrow buttons to highlight "02 Multiswitch" then press Select button
  • Use the Arrow buttons and highlight Dish Type - press the Select button
  • In the drop-down box use the Arrow buttons to highlight "01-18" round" then press the Select button
  • Use the Arrow buttons to navigate to Continue until you can highlight
  • Watch DirectTV

Litzdog is spot on, You must repeat the Satellite setup while connected to the dish. Your H24 receiver is in the SWM mode which matches up to the dish that you have at home. Now connecting the H24 to the 18" dish you will not get any HD programming, but you will get the standard deff version of your programming. Also when you reconnect the receiver when you get home you will have to repeat the same process, but the receiver should automatically detect the dish a switch type.
