Originally set up by professional installer.  Connection lost.  Receiver is HR24/100.  Get message Internet not connected (13).  Result code 86-738.  Phone agent tried to restore default which didn't work.  What to do next?

Did you attempt to connect a Ethernet cable to the DVR?  Did you switch routers or any other component?  I'm assuming you have a Whole Home DVR system?  If not, disregard thius message and post back.  If so, go to a couple of the receivers, press and hold the info button, then select more system info and scroll down to see what is reported for Internet.  If is says Internet not connected try this,

First thing to try is resetting the DECA network....it must be done in this order. Before you begin, assure that DHCP is enabled on your router if your system is connected to the Internet.  This is essential.

1. Disconnect AC power from each DVR and Receiver

2. Disconnect power from the DECA BB Adapter (black DECA BB box)

3. Disconnect power from the SWM dish Power Inserter (do you know where yours is located)?

4. Disconnect then reconnect AC power on your home network gateway/router and modem.

5. Wait a few minutes for the router to reset

6. Re-power the DECA Broadband Adapter

7. Re-power the SWM Power Inserter.

8. Re-power each DVR and Receiver

Following that, press and hold the info button on one DVR, then select more system info. Scroll down and check that Internet is listed as connected.

Not a whole home system, just one receiver.  A video I saw on this site said that an HR24 receiver needed a coax cable instead of ethernet.  I've found the manual to do that.  Might that be the problem?

HR24 will work fine with ethernet, provided you do NOT have WHDVR service.  Usually you just need to reset the HR24 after you've connected its ethernet to you home network router.  That's done by pressing the red button behind the front panel access card door.

Just tried reset.  No change.  Also, the WLAN light on your network adaptor is not on.

Might be a defective WLAN adapter.  Note that it's not "our network adapter".  It's yours.  We're customers like you, not DirecTV employees.

Sorry, didn't know who I was corresponding with.  I'm probably stuck with getting an installer out here which takes weeks.  Thanks for your help.
