Unable to Register DIRECTV Nomad - PC - Windows 7

I have Nomad installed on my network per the instructions (i. e., directly attached to my WiFi router) and all 3 lights are blue.  I have downloaded Nomad from the DirecTV web site.  The software sucessfully found the DIRECTV Nomad, activated the device, but will NOT register the DirecTV Nomad.  The error code is suspicious 5-0-0.  What does error code 5-0-0 mean for cryin' out loud?

Do you have a HD DVR Connected to the same router and does the DVR indicate it is connected to the Internet?

this usually indicates that either a windows firewall or your routers firewall is blocking access to the Nomad.  try turning firewall off.  see if that helps.

Yes.  My HD-DVR is connected to the same router that my Nomad device is.

Promoting the Nomad device to the DMZ worked.  I have now been able to register the DirecTV Nomad sucessfully and can now see my playlists.  Thanks for the valuable information!
