Universal or Genie remote?
I need to order a new remote. I currently have a universal remote ( long white rectangular) but there is an option for a genie remote as well. How do I determine which to buy as a replacement?

I personally still recommend the old school bigger white remotes. They offer more buttons and are ultimately easier to understand and navigate across in my opinion. There really is no benefit to getting the new ‘peanut’ Genie remote. Since you are accustomed to the older style remote, you are better off sticking to it.

I prefer the peanut remote.
Only thing to remember is that if you have a genie and want the genie to respond to RF, you MUST use the peanut remote because the genie uses an RF frequency which is not supported on the old remote.
