Upcoming HD upgrade
So my 2 year contract is up in May and we got a new Vizio HD TV and have been limping along with DTV SD and OTA HD for locals. Called to get the scoop on an HD DVR upgrade. First CSR could offer $50 off the $199 for the HD DVR and offered to transfer to Customer Retention immediately. Spoke with an agent who offered the HD DVR for $49 + $19.95 S/H. During further discussion, I hinted that wasn't the package I was looking for and might investigate other options when my 2 years was up. She then offered the HD DVR for just the $19.95 S/H charge, but then couldn't offer any "deals" on the monthly charges.
I would welcome feedback or comments as to currently preferred HD DVR model. CSR couldn't tell me what the installer that is coming this Saturday will bring when they change out the dish itself. What will they be installing in place of my current dish and will they be able to use the same mounting post? I currently have the dual coax from the dish location to the media center.
