User ID & Password for Home Adapter DCAU1R0-01
My Home Adapter DCAU1R0-01 gets a DHCP address from my router and when I go to that address, I get a web page that asks for a User ID & Password. I am very curious as to what this web page is for? I have tried 'admin' + 'admin', no luck. Does anyone know what the current User ID & Password for this device might be?
Thanks, Kym.

I've been trying to locate firmware images as I'm sure there's probably a more recent one, but directv may have those locked down and accessible just to technicians

DTV sends all software/firmware updates via the sats so you should already have the latest.

I'm using a pair of DECA adapters on dark coax in an area I really didn't want to run ethernet cables :') I know it's a bit of a strange ask but I like keeping firmware on my devices on most recent stable releases lol

There is no firmware or software used with the DECAs and since all DTV receivers beginning with the HR24 have DECA built in there is no longer a need for the external ones.

I have a pair of DCAU1R0 adapters with a login webpage where I can see all the configuration settings as well as the current firmware version. There is absolutely firmware on these adapters lol, I'm a little surprised someone with 19.5k posts didnt know that 🤣

If it does have firmware then it is built in and most likely can't be upgraded. DECAs are only used to add or remove the internet from the coax.

Look at the screenshot, it gives you the ability to upload a different firmware image. Any device in existence that has firmware can be modified. These deca adapters do at the end of the day provide a simple method for sending multimedia signals over coax, but they are more configurable than you seem to be aware.
I mean, it's a device that shows up on your network with an IP address (default utilizes DHCP but you can configure a static IP) so of course it has firmware

Theoretically possible? Sure. But nobody here or from DirecTV will know how to do it. Of course, if you ever figure it out please let us know.

I believe the only way to update the firmware is to change the chip(s).

Lol what? That's not how firmware works. In any case, on the off chance I find a binary I'll let y'all know

I used the ID & Password suggested by Passwordplz and we have lift off!!!!
Not a lot to see, but at least I now know what is sucking up an IP address. Thank you .

Awesome! The ability to assist an adapter to a "room" could be helpful if you have more than a few. Likewise, I was happy to finally figure out the random wired device showing up in my clients list on the router 😅

Entropic (now owned by MaxLinear) designed the MoCA chip in the unit. Clearly the device was designed to accept firmware upgrades.
We use that chip set in some of our products (and I also employ an ex-MaxLinear engineer.)
It would be interesting to see what version of MoCA is used, but pretty sure it is MoCA 1.5 or so for backwards compatibility.
Our company is selling units with MoCA 2.5 which can achieve about 2.5 gigabits over coax.
In any case, interesting but not surprising, the system self-configures when it "hears" MoCA on the coax.

Super cool, Greg! I've been eying an upgrade to Moca 2.0 or 2.5 (2.5 is overkill for my use case and I'd have to upgrade switches in between lol), but waiting to find the right deal. I like GoCoax and Screenbeam/Actiontek seem solid as well, which product line does your company sell? Feel free to PM if there's an issue posting a company that isn't a sponsor of the forum or you'd like to keep that private
