View Live TV throught the house

Let me preface this by saying that I am a new DirectTV customer.

I read that I can watch live TV or a DVR recorded show in one room and then continue in another. But any further "tips" only tell me how to watch a recorded show in one room and then continue in another.

Can someone tell me how to start watching a live show, say, in my living room where the DVR is ... hit pause ... and continue watching the show in my bedroom?

Thank you so much!

Why do you need to do that for "Live TV"?  Just view that channel in the bedroom on the Receiver there.

But if you're watching a Live broadcast in the Living Room and want to continue it in the bedroom without missing anything, press RECORD in the Living Room to being recording that show.  Then you can select that show in the bedroom Receiver's Playlist and continue watching it there.

you cant. the ad is not accurate.

it has to be a recorded show and then you cant hit pause.. you have to either power off of hit stop to resume it in another room

I'm a bit confused.  The header on this thread reads live TV throughout the house, but the post refers to pause etc.  Panagamer is correct, in order to stop play in one location and resume in another you must press stop or shut down the DVR.  The reason is simple, pausing play on a DVR does not insert a marker in the program, while pressing stop does, thus another location can see the marker and resume from that point.
