VOD recordings begin then fail
Hello,
I have the Direct TV wireless adapter set up on my wireless network. My router is a Apple Time Capsule.
When I start a recording, it works as expected and progress's but eventually will fail giving me an error "stating network connection lost". I can unplug the power to the adapter, then plug it back in and the recording will resume but eventually fail again.
The Direct TV service guys seem to be baffled and have stated it could be a bug that Direct TV has with Apple Air Ports etc.
When I plug an Ethernet cable directly to the Time Capsule everything works fine.
I would really prefer to go wireless so I don't have to run and hide an Ethernet cable.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Well, either you get the Wireless Cinema Connection kit closer to the router, get a stronger router or run a Ethernet cable or you'll continue to have problems. A computer can suffer the "wrinkles" in a poor wireless signal and you'll sometimes never notice it. But, the on demand stream demands a perfect full time connection to Directv's server. Personally I'd run the Ethernet cable, it's cheap and reliable.

Interesting, the router is only about 20 feet away from the WCC with no walls etc. in between. May have to try the Ethernet, just would rather go wireless.

You might have a bum router.

Maybe, but doubt it, works remarkable well with everything else I use wirelessly, from iPad (s), phone etc. all up to 100 feet or so from the house in the yard.
