Volume and mute won't program

I recently upgraded to a hisense/roku TV (model 58r6e3) and can't program my directv rc66rx remote to change the volume. The remote will turn the TV on and off but volume buttons do nothing. I've tried dozens of codes for hisense and roku brands. Some do nothing and some will turn on/off and change channels but no volume control.

Hello @Dmc, we understand how important it is for you to have your services working as expected.

We'd like to share with you that our remote controls are guaranteed to program to your DIRECTV receiver. They operate most devices; however your TV or other components may not be compatible with our remote control.

We recommend you to use the remote that came with the TV. In case the issue persists, please let us know.

I just installed a new sony bravia tv with the same issue and am frustrated not only by the issue, but the directv response to your issue that despite their guarantee, you should just learn to live with the issue and enjoy using 2 remotes.  I'll probably get the same response to mine as well.

Likely. I personally dropped directv a long time ago in lieu of streaming services. Only worried about this issue for my dad but with customer support like this, I don't think anyone will have to worry about directv for much longer

@teetertotter I did. Found a couple dozen codes for roku and hisense with the previously noted results.
