Waiting for receiver signal
I just changed a TV on one of my small receivers and continue to get the “waiting for receiver signal” message.
I’ve tried the following.
- Turn your TV and receiver off and back on.
- On your Universal remote control, press TV Input(press Input if you are using a Genie remote) to cycle through TV inputs (component, HDMI, etc.) until you see a picture.
- If nothing happens when you press the button, try programming your DIRECTV remote to control your TV Input and try again.
- If you're still having issues, check the cable used to connect your receiver to your TV.
When that didnt work so I tried this:
- Unplug the receiver's power cord from the electrical outlet.
- Wait 15 seconds then plug it back in.
- Press Power on the front panel of your receiver and wait for your receiver to reboot.
I have even tried resetting the main genie and that didn’t work.
Please help!

What model Genie do you have? What model client are you trying to install?
If Genie 2 Is the client wired or wireless?
Did you try setting up the client in a location that you know works - or moving a client that is already setup to the new location?
