Waiting for receiver signal

I just changed a TV on one of my small receivers and continue to get the “waiting for receiver signal” message.

I’ve tried the following.

  1. Turn your TV and receiver off and back on.
  2. On your Universal remote control, press TV Input(press Input if you are using a Genie remote) to cycle through TV inputs (component, HDMI, etc.) until you see a picture.
  3. If nothing happens when you press the button, try programming your DIRECTV remote to control your TV Input and try again.
  4. If you're still having issues, check the cable used to connect your receiver to your TV.

When that didnt work so I tried this:

  1. Unplug the receiver's power cord from the electrical outlet.
  2. Wait 15 seconds then plug it back in.
  3. Press Power on the front panel of your receiver and wait for your receiver to reboot.

I have even tried resetting the main genie and that didn’t work.

Please help!

What model Genie do you have? What model client are you trying to install?

If Genie 2 Is the client wired or wireless?

Did you try setting up the client in a location that you know works - or  moving a client that is already setup to the new location?
