West Facing?

I am moving into an apt that is facing west.  How far can a dish stick out from the balcony to receive a south signal? Is it possible for installers to make that happen?

No way to tell from here.  You'll have to schedule an installation and let an installer have a look.  Are there others on your side of the building doing the same thing?

Cincinatti is about 84 degrees west longitude.  The eastern most satellite (not counting International) is at 99 degrees west longitude.  Thus the satellite lies at about 15 degrees off the wall of your building assuming it lies true N & S.  If you set the dish at a height above the railing and on the north end of the patio, I'd guess it will see the satellites properly.

There is a app available for an iPhone that someone else might comment on as I haven't used it personally.  It will show the satellites in the sky at their actual locations.

There is another apt that has a dish further down where the trees are thicker and get a signal. I am just afraid to sign a lease and lose NFL Sunday ticket. 🙂  The dish boarders on West/South West line. I'll have an installer come out and check it out if they do that.  Thanks everyone. More suggestions and response are welcomed!
