What does a circle symbol with a / in the middle mean on my recordings playlist?

On my playlist I have many recordings the have a circle symbol with a / in the middle. How can I fix this so I can watch my recordings?

We can explain that symbol, @Ballard!

This symbol is typically seen when you have more than one DVR in the house. DVRs have a set number of tuners.

A tuner gives you the ability to watch one channel, record one channel or stream a recording to another location. In order to watch one channel and record another channel, you need multiple tuners.

Just for reference:

  • Non-Genie DVRs can do two things at once (Two Tuners).
  • Genie DVRs can do five things at once (Five Tuners).
    • Genie Minis watching live TV will take one of the 5 tuners from the Genie.

So, If you record a show on DVR 1 and try to watch it on DVR 2 while DVR 1 is recording or being used at max capacity, DVR 2 will display this symbol until DVR 1 has an open tuner to share.

If you are sure that the DVRs are not being used at max capacity, you can reboot both of them to sync them again.

If you have any other questions, let us know!
