What In The World Am I Doing Wrong ? lol

OK...I have a DirecTV Plus DVR in our main room, we want to hook up another standard reciever in another room not 20 feet away.

Of course the DVR / Receiver is a dual tuner.

I have a 2x4 Zinwell Multi Switch and a diplexer, I have tried every combination in the world it seems to get the other TV up and running but nothing seems to work...my daughter is dying to watch tv in her own room ! lol

I know it can be done !

What do I plug where to have a full signal on both TV's ?

I have tried looking at diagrams on the web and nothing is working, please help ?

Thanks !

Each Receiver/DVR tuner must have its own connection directly to the multiswitch.  Does your 4-output Zinwell have any unused outputs?  The DVR should connect to two of those outputs.  Use one more for your new standard receiver.

Why do you have a diplexer?

You don't tell us if you have HD.  If you do post back with the type of dish you have and the model numbers of the two receivers/DVR's.

If you have SD, then your install is simple.  You don't need the diplexer (unless you have an off air antenna).  Run a new coax from the Zinwell output to the Daughter's room, connect the SD receiver and go through the satellite setup.  You must have two feeds from the dish to the Zinwell input, and the three outputs will go to your two receivers.  When you get to dish type, I'd assume you have a round.  At the appropriate spot, call Directv and they will activate the receiver.  I assume the card in the receiver is new.
