What kind of RG6 female to female connectors do I need to connect receiver to switch?
I got a satellite upgrade and it's the HD SL3 satellite. I have 3 HR24 receivers and they all work with the new satellite. The DTV tech put in a switch that splits the RG6 cable to multiple RG6 lines.
I want to move one of the HR24 receivers to another room. The cable to the other room is RG6. However, it was connected by a Terk switch in the room that no longer works with the HD signal from the satellite.
[Satellite] ===> [Switch from DTV] ----> [Terk Switch/obsolete] ----> [cable to other room]
I want to combine two separate RG6 cables and bypass the Terk switch by connecting the cable from the DTV switch to the RG6 cable going to the other room. I can get regular RG6 female to female connectors.
Will these work in sending SWM signals to the cable in the other room?
I can recable by running a long RG6 cable from the DTV switch to the other room that is in one piece. However, this would require me moving multiple furniture away from the walls so I would prefer to not to do that.
Would a normal RG6 female to female cable connector have any problems with the SWM signal to the other room?? Or do I have to get special RG6 female to female connectors?
