WHDVR recording playback on receivers in family room and bedroom not working
Hello,
We just had Direct TV and WH HDDVR and 2 HD receiverinstalled. The HD-DVR is in our living room and 1 HD receiver in in the family room and the other HD receiver is in our bedroom. When we try to watch a recording from the family room receiver and bedroom receiver at the same time (different recordings) we get the response on one receiver "This program cannot be watched. There are too many recordings being played from playlist Living Room (our HD-DVR). There is only 1 recording being watched on the other receiver when we get that response. I was under the impression that we could watch 2 recorded shows on the 2 receivers at the same time, is this not correct. Also, the HD-DVR is normally not being used.

Nope. The DVRs can only stream one recording at a time to remote Receivers.

Good to know thank you very much.
Now because of this, I would like to move my HD-DVR from it's current location to where one of my HD Receivers is located and put the HD Receiver where the HD-DVR is, basically just swap them.
The current setup is like this: The HD DVR has a SWM power inserter plugged into power and one end of the cable goes from the wall jack to the Power inserter and then another cable from to the power inserter to the HD-DVR. In the room with the HD Receiver, there is a device that I'm going to guess is a DECA, it's tan colored with network jack going from it to the ethernet jack on the HD Receiver and the cable from the wall is plugged into it and then another cable to the receiver.Just to let you know, I tried swapping them by leaving the DECA and Power inserter where they were and just move the HD-DVR and HD Receiver, after they went through the setup they both worked but the Whole Home setup was not working (could not view recordings from the HD-DVR), it said it could not detect a DVR on the network. Is there a step I'm missing or did I swap them incorrectly? I also have a 2nd HD receiver but did nothing with it.

Leave the power inserter alone. Move the DECA adapter with that Receiver. Then you should be fine.

If I leave the power inserter in place, it will be connected to the DECA and HD Receiver via the coax when I swap them out. Is this ok?

Yes, that's the way to do it. Consider that the DECA device and the Ethernet jumper are an integral part of the receiver to which they are connected while the power inserter is a standalone device.

Update: I did what you advised and just moved the HD DVR and the HD receiver with the DECA still attached to it and now my HD DVR is operational in my family room and both HD Receivers can get recorded shows from it. Thanks again!!! This forum is the best place to go to for assistance.
