WHDVR Set up questions
Okay, I've given up reading posts and trying to figure this out on my own. So I'm going to be the millionth DIY'er to ask about WHDVR. I have a SWiM connection with one HR23 and two H24's. I called DirecTV to get WHDVR and they said the person already set my system up to be ready for WHDVR, I just needed the DECA's. So they sent me three DECA's. I connected one directly in line to my HR23 HD DVR. All three lights are lit up green so I'm assuming this is working fine. I know that the H24's already have DECAs built in so I don't think I need to connect the other two that they sent. I've already set my playlist to share, confirmed all three devices were authorized for WHDVR, and named them. I used the red button to reset all three of the receivers but for some reason I can't get the H24's to recognize the HR23. I haven't used any green label splitters for anything and I don't have ethernet connected to any of my boxes. I'm wondering if I somehow need a DECA connected to my router or something. On a side note, they only sent me 3 DECAs and no power supplies/cords. Not sure if that matters. Please help.

Sounds as though you have it properly configured. The HR23 is the only need for a DECA module. Did you connect the coax plus the Ethernet jumper to the HR23? As to greem labeled splitters. The SWM system requires a splitter in order to provide a coax feed to all three boxes, and that splitter must be green labeled, see pic. Have you gone online to your account and looked at account services -> my services -> Whole Home -> currently activated? If all set, try this.
1. Disconnect AC power from each DVR and Receiver
2.Disconnect power from the SWM dish Power Inserter (do you know where yours is located)?
3. Re-power the SWM Power Inserter.
4. Re-power each DVR and Receiver
If you want to connect your system to the Internet, post back and we can offer some additional tips.

Do I need to have an Ethernet cable running from my router to the DECA module or from the DECA module to my HR23? I've already gone online and spoken with DirecTV Customer Service to confirm that WHDVR is activated. Once I know how to connect the Ethernet cables, I'll try doing all of the resets that you also recommended.

Also, I found where the SWM feed comes into the house and confirmed that a green labeled splitter is used to run coax to the other three boxes. But it is in the basement and no where near the actual boxes. I'm assuming this is normal.

there should be no ethernet cables involved at all (with the exception of the DECA ethernet jumper). you need to connect the receiver DECA to the HR23 with the included short jumper to the top ethernet port . then do the steps on post # 2
