Whole Home DVR Service - Direct TV Runaround!!
Anyone out there have an answer to the runaround with DTV when it comes to activating whole home DVR service/unsupported??? I have installed all of the hardware necessary. My networked receivers all recognize/access the internet and are able to share data from my computers. I just called DTV and they are refusing to activate whole home DVR service. They are stating the only way for me to have this service activated to to call and request a "professional" installation at $99. What a crock!! Anyone know how to reach someone in DTV that has the authority to activate this service???

log in to your DTV account and send them an e-mail under the contact us link. it seems that the CSR are unaware of this function, it may seem because DTV wants everybody usingg the DECA network

The only way the services could without installation is if u was apart of the beta testing for mrv other than than that u will be required to have installation done..

That is simply not true. Hardly a day goes by that another user doesn't post that they got activated with a DIY network.

If you wish to activate the service using your own network, here's the system that's worked for others. Go to your account online, copy your account number, then select Help -> contact us -> email -> select language -> fill in the blanks -> Topic "services" -> whole home DVR -> activate -> give them your account number, tell them you've been using beta and want the Whole Home DVR service activated using your own network and that you do not want to order DECA.
