Whole Home red circle

I have two HD DVRs, BASEMENT and BEDROOM and the Whole Home DVR service. From the BASEMENT I can watch any programs recorded on the BEDROOM DVR, no problems. But if I try to watch a BASEMENT recording from the BEDROOM, the shows all have a red circle with a fat white dash in the middle, and I get a message like "Too many programs are being played at once on the device".

I get this message regardless if the BASEMENT DVR is on or off, recording or not recording.

I have rebooted both DVRs via the red button. I have tech support coming on Thursday, but ... well. Let's just say they've been here before and it didn't do much good. I'm hoping maybe someone here can give me some tips on what to do or ask when the do arrive.

Thanks!

Let us know what the tech finds.  Usually resetting BOTH DVRs will solve this sort of problem.

The red dashed circle would be normal if you had a HD receiver in your system that was watching a program from the basement DVR.  Each DVR can only stream programming to one remote location at a time.  If your system is restricted to just the two DVR's then the red circle is obviously a malfunction.

We do have one other SD receiver in the house but it's not on "the network". My suspicion is that the old HD-20 in the basement has something funky with the way it's set up, as it appears not to be sending updated information to the more modern DVR in the bedroom -- it only shows programs recorded as of the last time it was rebooted. It's like it sends the information once, but thereafter clams up.

Maybe it's a teenager ...
