Whole-Home Playlists not updating

I have 2 HR20 HD-DVR's on my home network and have been enjoying the new whole-home option for several weeks.  In the past week I have had two separate instances of the playlists not updating properly.  The only way to fix it seems to be a reset-reboot which takes over ten minutes to complete.  Is there any way to force a playlist update without having to do a reset-reboot?

Thanks for any help,

Did Directv install your Whole Home system and does each HR20 have a DECA adapter connected to the coax input?  If so, it is not normal for the boxes to drop the play list.  One thing that can cause this is if the signal stream is passing through the power inserter.  See pic, is the wiring set up as shown in the photo on the left?  If so, rewiring it like the photo on the right may correct the issue.

also post the FULL model of your HR20 receivers.  the HR20-100 needs a "special" set up.  so if you have this model, we would need to check if they are hooked properly

My models are HR20/700's.  DirecTV installed one and the cableing for the second.  I bought the second HR20/700 at Costco and hooked it up in my bedroom the same way the Living Room unit is connected.  Both units have a brown box installed between the satellite output and the two inputs.

The Whole-Home feature was purchased via phone and implemented via magic by DirecTV.  I have both boxes connected to the internet via my home computer network.

As to the first response post, I don't think I have SWM Power Inserter, I have two separate coaxs from the LNB's on the dish and each has it's own brown box input.

You have an unsupported Ethernet based system as opposed to a supported DECA based system.  I ran a system like yours for several months before having Directv upgrade me to the DECA system.

The post I made earlier does not pertain to your system obviously.  I can offer a suggestion that will greatly enhance the flow of programming from one box to the other.  Purchase an Ethernet switch and locate it adjacent to your router.  Plug the two Cat5 cables the feed each of the HR20's into the switch.  Then use a jumper to connect the switch to your router.

The effect will be that all programming will flow from DVR to DVR without ever entering your router.  This is the switch that I used.  Note, do not use a Hub, it must be a switch.
