Why are shows set to keep still being put in the last chance category
Sense upgrading to the genie 2 for HDR and 4k i have had shows that were recorded from non ppv sources get added to the last chance area on my dvr.
Matter of fact just checked some and they said this rental period expired even though the show was taken from a non rental on demand channel.

So even when i put keep on shows from Epix or HBO or Starz on demand channels they can still be removed.
If so then what is the use of the keep function?

There's a difference between recording shows from the satellite channels directly, or downloading them via OnDemand. If you record them from the live satellite channels, they'll hang around on your DVR indefinitely (as long as there's space and you've set "Keep Until I Delete"). If you download via OnDemand, then the content owners can set an expiration date.

If thats the case then why have some shows that i did record from the channels and not on demand also get added to the last chance category?
For instance i recorded deadpool from fox movie channel yet it was given a last chance thing and deleted also recorded Stardust from hdnet and it also was added to the last chance and deleted.
Yet on the old system this did not happen just sense upgrading to the Genie2.

Not sure why that happened. "Keep Until I Delete" recordings shouldn't be deleted unless the DVR's disk space runs too low.

Disc space is 40% one thing i did notice is both deadpool and stardust shortly after they were removed were added to directv cinema.
Which also brings up something else how long do i own movies bought on directv like i bought not rented all 3 john wick movies are they mine to keep or will they disappear has well.
