Will this work?
First off - Not happy with DirecTV over not telling me that the internet won't work with Whole-Home without the extra equipment. Would have gotten it done when the installer was here....
Just installed is a SWM 8 switch, HR24 & H24 tied together with a Holland HFS-3D splitter.
Will this work (diagram attached)? Since my internet router is right by my HR24, can I just add a splitter(Zinwell #MSPLIT2R1-03 or Holland HFS-2D?) before the HR24 and attached the HR24 to one "Out" and a 'DECA Broadband Adapter DECABB1MR0' to the other "Out"?
Thanks, Kevin

Some folks have successfully negotiated getting DirecTV to come back and "finish" the WHDVR installation. But it looks like you went do-it-yourselfall the way?

Nope haven't done any DIYing yet, just trying to avoid the service call fee by adding the DECA-BB on my own if possible. I'm cheap and curious, bad combination
The DirecTV technician installed the Holland splitter, I've attached a diagram with exactly how it is installed (and unaltered by me). With that said the Whole-Home system seems to be working fine with the Holland splitter.
I'll take the suggestion and give them a call. I hate having to negotiate for something that should have been done right in the first place (and don't get me started on the bait-n-switch on the local HD channels).
Thanks for the input! Very much appreciated.

the holland splitter is not design for the SWM system. an particularly for WHDVR. do yourself a favor by calling DTV and have them come back to finish the job properly. and maybe they'll throw in the BB DECA for your "aggravation"

I'm guessing from your user name that you're in Alaska? Are you working with a DirecTV contractor, or an independent installer?

Yes, I'm in Alaska.
Called a retailer with a local storefront here in Juneau, but rings in Fairbanks, basically just someone holding your hand while entering your info into DirecTVs system. They didn't get me setup for Whole-Home on the initial order so I called DirecTV proper and got that corrected (but with no mention of DECA implications from either). In any case they both would send the same contractor, who also installs Dishnetwork and Hughes systems. The contractor was very professional and did a great job installing the dish and cabling, but maybe he didn't know about the 'green label' splitters (and still no mention of the disabled ethernet port)?
I'm going to stop by the retailers storefront (really just a warehouse) tomorrow to see if I can things back on course.
Again, thanks for the input!

The only thing necessary to make the install right is a splitter of the correct type (see pic). A plus would be to connect the power inserter to the power passing port by itself and run independent coax to each box, including the BB adapter, although the way you show it will work.

Didn't have time to drive down to the retailer so I called DirecTV instead and plead my case.
The customer service rep (who I must say was very pleasant to deal with) said there was nothing in the computer about a DECA broadband adapter, maybe it was something that might be available from a retailer somewhere. The only way she knew of to get connected to the internet was with the Cinema Connection Kit which was $24 plus $100 for an installation service call. After laying out the facts and stating my unhappiness and telling her I would gladly install it myself she figured a way to just mail it to me for $25 plus $8 shipping for a total of $33.24.
So not what I really wanted, would really rather have it hardwired in. I hate the silliness of having a wireless device sitting right next to my wireless router talking to each other. But a cheap easy solution that should keep my blood pressure down, I hope.
Also, just happen to see my dish installer and asked if I could get the splitter swapped for a proper green one. He said that the one installed would work just fine and didn’t need to be replaced. Hard to argue that, it is working…
So I guess I’ll just order up the right splitter. Easier to spend the $9 for the splitter than argue. That’s $9 plus the sometimes exorbitant shipping to Alaska - ooops there goes the blood pressure again.
Thank you for all your replies in helping with this!
I do hope DirecTV does a better job in the future letting customers know about the connectivity issue.

Unless Alaska has a special policy that I'm not aware of, the CSR is full of beans. Effective last January a hard wired, professionally installed BB adapter (AKA Cinema Connection Kit) was included by default in every Whole Home DVR ordered, whether requested by the customer or not.
The reason this was done was for situations exactly like yours. The new customer didn't know they had to order the Kit. I would call back, explain to the CSR that the professionally installed hard wired (coax/Ethernet combination) was to be included in your original order (at no additional cost) by default and would they please send an installer to complete the job.
