Wireless conection to Directv DVR
I have a HR22 Dvr that I need to connect to my network wirelessly. Can I use any ethernet wireless device with the receiver? What is the minimum singal strength that will allow me to watch a show at my other HD receivers?

Don't try to use a wireless ethernet adapter for Whole Home DVR. It's simply not reliable. If you can string an ethernet cable, then look to the DECA networking adapters.

Cann't string an ethernet cable. This DVR is on second floor and router is in basement on the oposite side of the house. My HD rec and HD DVR have an ethernet cable run to them.

That's why DECA is recommended. No new cables needed since it uses your existing satellite coax cable. You can certainly try a Wireless Ethernet Adapter, but expect issues.

You've got me totally confused. If you have an Ethernet wire run to each box why are you considering wireless? With Whole Home DVR you only need a connection to one spot in the signal coax. Connect a BB or DECA module to the coax near your DVR and use the existing Ethernet cable to connect the entire system to your router. If you do not have Whole Home DVR, then you'd be better served to post your wireless adapter question in the On Demand forum.

Thank you,
I'm going to start Whole Home Dvr (have been tested and it works) and was wondering if contecting the last reciever via wireless was reasonable solution. From your responses I can see that DECA is the best solution.

Ahhh, now I see. Yes, wireless was shown to be unreliable during the initial testing phase. It apparently isn't so much a matter of speed, but rather the way wireless sends info in such a way as to make live streaming jerky.
