wireless vs ethernet connection

  I have Verizon DSL internet, my download speed is 2.9MBPS at best.   I am connected to my HR54/700 via wireless network, I can still stream movies but on occasion I will get buffering.  Do you think it would make much of a difference if I connected the Genie via ethernet instead of wireless.  Thought I would ask before I move my router and modem over.  thanks
