WVB frequency
Is it possible to change the frequency being used by the wireless video bridge equipment?
Don't read more into this question than what I asked. I have been a network engineer for several fixed wireless ISPs over the years, and this has started to become even more of a problem in the last couple years, because the wvb uses 80mhz channels. All that noise really causes a lot of misery. Recently, I have had at least two customers who started experiencing really bad interference from their neighbors' new Directv wvb installation.
I am hoping to get some useful information that I most likely can't get by calling any Directv or ATT number, especially since I'm not a customer. Please, only give me something I can use, not "this is only for blah blah blah". For those of you who are just going to say "change your AP frequency": don't go there. It is WAY easier to control the noise floor at the customer's location than it is in the world outside.

Unfortunately the WVB doesn't have an option to change that, at least not at the user level. They have it built to be one way for everybody. Perhaps with later models they will change that, but not for now.
Sorry not the answer you're looking for, just this is how it is built at this time.

Fair enough, (as much as I dislike it) I am forced to accept that the expectation is for no user to ever touch this. Is there a way to steer its channel selection?
Is this where I rant about the people who decide how I am _permitted_ to use my products have no idea how I actually use them?

I am not aware of any option to change such selection as that was built to be used one way.
As for your other question, essentially yes. This is a public forum populated by other customers so discuss, vent, etc. as you see fit.

Not changing, but making the environment unfavorable for a particular frequency selection. The frequency being used is 5260-5340, and their internet connection is 5280-5320, so I need to figure out how to make the wvb use something else. If I place something in the room broadcasting on the 5260-5340, is it going to be "smart" enough to select a different frequency, or is it coded to use a particular range?

Mine is the same what looks like a 80 MHz channel centered on channel 58.
Why not put a 5ghz Wi-Fi access point on the same channel/frequency and see what happens.
Also, the funny thing is that Mini that is connected to this Genie 2 reports channel 161...
