Att links to Direct TV account

I have had att fiber/internet for about 9 months. I have had Direct streaming longer. When I first started to Direct stream, my internet provider was someone else. For the first 9 months of att service I never had a problem accessing my account to preview/pay etc. About a week ago, when ever I click on my att login, I am directlly sent to my login page for direct TV. Strange too, the att logo appears as well. Now, since I ordered Direct from Direct while I had a different internet provider, att was not even on the radar. Same with att. Neither knows about the other. I know it was once 'one company', but that is not the case today...question is, how did both entities get linked? I didn't do it, and now I have no way of getting to my att account, because I always wind up at my Direct account..
I am thinking about canceling my Direct Tv, since I have no contract. Perhaps that will allow me to access att again

Here are the two links to use for AT&T and DirecTV. You need to have two different accounts.
Use this link for the AT&T account: https://www.att.com/ and sign into "My ATT"

for DirecTV use: https://www.directv.com/ and use "Sign In"

When AT&T acquired the DirecTV brand, they created unified logins. After the new co-owner joined and DirecTV was moved off to being their own entity again (with AT&T still being primary owner, but co-owner handling day to day operations), they updated again to separate that unified login. This has resulted in needing separate emails for those two logins otherwise it usually causes a redirect loop like you've experienced.

I use the two links mentioned...both take me to direct....have two separate emails...problem happens when I use both laptop and Iphone...Changed user name and passwords so many times, I am running out of them.
Very frustrating.
Contacted att, via their support page. The reply was very short: "What city are you in?". Have no idea why that should matter, but I told them. Never another reply and that was over a week ago.
I may dump both and go with Xfinity
