Can i DIRECTV Stream from home and another location?

Hi, My child recently moved away from college, we currently have Hulu Live and found that she cannot access live or recorded shows in her dorm (she is about 1 hour away from us).  Does Directv Stream have the ability to log in both at home and in her dorm through her Roku device and access Live and recorded shows in both locations?

Sure. Just back up to the main forum and select DirecTV.

OK - I have lived in Dallas, TX for many years but recently moved to Florida to be closer to my parents however, I still prefer my DirecTVStream show Dallas local and sports stations, not Florida local and sports stations.  How can I get my DirecTV Stream to change my location services back to the Dallas area?

What device are you using? In general, local channels are based on your billing zip code and the location of the device. If you have a device that has location services or GPS, you will receive the traveling channels.

The Direct TV streaming system is terrible and non-customer friendly. Multiple times we have been locked out of watching shows in our own home. We have been unable to watch Direct TV on (2) different TVs in our home because they tell me "more than three devices are already streaming."  In addition, they don't allow customers to even see which devices are supposedly streaming or even disconnect ancillary devices that we don't know about. It is ridiculous the crappy service restrictions, especially when paying a huge price every month.

Yes she should be able to.

There should be a setting in the device called

LOCATION SERVICES that needs to be turned on.

If her problem continues to exist you will need to contact AT&T.

Good Luck:)

The reason for your streaming issues being limited is that your IP address is changing, causing the system to think you are not in your home location. You need to contact your ISP provider and obtain a static IP address. This is not a DirecTV Stream issue, but a ISP issue. There are many posts on this subject. Suggest you research and get familiar with how the service works.

The ISP is the same company who is providing the DirectTV service. So I agree that this is their issue to resolve but all I get is nonsense excuses from their customer service.  But the problem still remains that there is no way for me to see what devices are signed in on my account. This is a simple function that should be provided to every customer's account.

It's your responsibility to ensure that the app on all devices have been closed. There is no tool available to detect devices active. If sharing, its best to discontinue. The only thing that you can do, is change your password. At some point, the unknown active device will request a login again.

I have Directv stream at home.  I gave my mom access at her house and my daughter is using at college.  Both keep getting the message too many streams.  They are only using a one Roku device.  After they told me of the error it popped up on my tv at home.  Any ideas as to why we are all getting the message?

Out of home is limited to 3 streams of which only 2 streams can be with streaming devices. The 3rd is mobile.

The following is hilarious if not pathetic. I see posts going back over 2 years where Direct TV users are getting prompts on their home computers to re-install Synamedia VideoGuard Player countless times without the ability to stream their promised Direct TV service. Multiple phone calls later, over several months, and countless hours calling customer support at Direct TV/AT&T while being promised that someone will follow-up. The issue is still ongoing and I am still waiting for that promised email and call to no avail. Has anyone else had this issue currently?  Maybe it's time to make some changes!

@clduran2 That must be a DirecTV satellite issue - DirecTV Stream, which is the topic of this forum, doesn't use a "player" on computers - just a web browser.  You should post on a DirecTV satellite forum (go back up to the forum root and you will see DTV Satellite as a choice).
