Direct TV

Direct TV Streaming service customer service is the worst. I'm moving and needed to cancel my service on the 5th of the month. I can't because I have autopay. I never signed up for autopay they did it automatically. I can cancel on the 5th but have to pay for the whole month. Or cancel on the 31th and be without my TV for 5 days. Never ever ever get this service AT & T are the worst. I have been a customer for 25 yrs and this is how I am treated. They don't care.

Are you a DirecTV Stream or DirecTV Satellite customer?  I'm guessing Satellite if you've been a customer for 25 years.

All DirecTV Stream accounts are "autopay", but you can cancel at any time. Just give them a call. Phone number is below.

Thank you, Pursimon1, for being a loyal customer for 25 years, and we're sorry for the experience you have had with us. @Litzdog911 is right. You can cancel your service at any time. If you cancel in the middle of your billing cycle, you'll have access to your programming until the end date. However, for DIRECTV STREAM, we don't issue prorated credits. We're sending you a DM to assist you further. Mark, DIRECTV Community Specialist

I tried to work it out with the person I was speaking to. She wasn't any help. It was more like ( it is what it is).

@pursimon1

Like most other service providers, they do not prorate the final bill. This is standard in the industry. So DirecTV joined the rest a few years ago.

DIRECTV STREAM (which is only a few years old, not 25 years) requires autopay.

As for @litzdog911 he is a knowledgeable individual as shown by the ACE tag. He is letting you know how it should work. He said nothing about the conversation you had.

Please read this if you receive DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse® TV, AT&T Internet, AT&T Phone, and/or AT&T Fixed Wireless service(s). We want to remind you that you’re billed in advance for recurring service(s) and/or programming charges and applicable fees based on the terms of your current service agreement(s) with us. Starting January 14, 2019, subject to applicable laws, we’re updating your agreement(s) to include your recurring service(s)/programming charges and fees won’t be prorated if you cancel the above service(s) on any day other than the last day of your billing cycle. Your service(s) will continue until the end of your billing cycle but you won’t get a refund (prorated credits) for any remaining days left in your billing cycle. For products not listed above, refer to their terms of service for more information.
