DirecTV Now Grandfathered Plans no longer honored?

Here is the message (BELOW) I received when I signed up.  I just paid my last bill and it is now $123.98 Your statement below says keep your plan to keep on saving. How am I saving when I pay $ 123.98 and never missed a pmt since 2016/2017.

The service was glitchy at the begining and I was courted to stay with the small customer base for start up money. Is this how corporations operate. Now that your customer base is hundreds of thousands am I being lied to? Please reinstate my early adopter discount. You can audit my account. Never skipped a payment in all eight years.

Question is: Can I receive my monthly discount rate I was promised and was repeated in several e-mails?

This was in the first increase e-mail.

FROM 3/13/2019
Hi James,

Starting today, DIRECTV NOW℠ is offering new packages, PLUS and MAX. Each package has a different channel lineup than what you currently have, and both include HBO®.

Go Big is yours to hang on to, even though it’s not available to new customers. However, because programming costs continue to rise, your package will be increasing $10/mo beginning 08/08/2019. As a long-time streamer and early-adopter of DIRECTV NOW, you have an exclusive deal on your Go Big package and continue to save $25/mo on access to over 100 channels.

To see if these packages are a better fit, check out our comparison tool to help make the differences clear. If you do choose a new package, you won’t be able to get Go Big back or the discount you’re used to.

Thank you for streaming with us.

Sincerely,
Your DIRECTV NOW Team
Your prepaid period is ending soon, and your next payment will be charged on 8 Mar, 2017.*
When you signed up for our introductory Go Big offer at $35/mo, you scored an incredible deal that’s no longer available (it’s now $60!). Remember to stay with your Go Big plan, and you’ll keep on saving!

To summarize:

You keep a grandfathered discount. However, base rate can change because of increasing costs from the networks. Discount does not increase to keep up with base rate change.

So doesn't keep you price locked to a total cost. Just means you continue to receive a discount. Certainly compare against current options to see if ever a change would be a better fit for your budget.

Juniper, How much do you get paid to keep this charade or better yet lie going? If you look at the full price of all three packages, no where does my 109.99 before tax price show up as a 25.00 discount. I do not receive the movie channels in the ultimate package. So 109.99 - 25.00 = 84.99 before taxes. I will post this on all platforms so the customers will see the lengths this company will go to to avoid a promised 25.00 discount off my payment. Hear that, it comes off my payment. It's like stealing if this company will not off discount it promised. Thanks for nothing in your answer and keep your lying comments to yourself!

OOH Nooo not again. No logic from this so called self proclaimed expert. Take the top DIRECTV stream package without any movie channels, and subtract 25.00 Much lower than the 109.00 before taxes price I am paying. All I would expect is for Directv to offer my discount from my payment. I'm not stealing from them. They are stealing from me! Maybe you didn't look up the latest package price. I know it's hard to believe. Again. Only facts.

Maybe you should review the package prices. The cheapest 105+ channel package available is $145.

@EarlyAdopter_35_00

Leave the toxicity and false accusations at the door please. Like most others, I am another customer. No charade, no payments. I post honestly from my perspective and the knowledge I've built over the years. You don't have to like my responses, but please keep discussion civil as the forum guidelines apply to all.

Ok, Here is the civil facts. You are showing the satellite offers. Drill down to only the stream prices with no extra movie or sports extras. Then subtract the 25.00 it should be around 80.00 but your best fact is you can cancel man! Why should I or any of the 5 thousand early adopters cancel.  Can't this company be fair and honest.

No. Straight from my account of available packages. I also am grandfathered, Go Big. If you are looking at the prices from the website, you need to understand those rates (with discounts) are for new subscribers only. You are not entitled to those rates. Login to your account and look at available packages that you can subscribe to under My Packages.

@EarlyAdopter_35_00

Prices on the website, without logging in, are the intro temporary discounted rates. Those are not the base full cost of those services.

That is how most companies are. They advertise that special intro rate, the welcome basket if you well, to attract business. It is as honest and fair as any other business.

Logging into your account and then looking at packages and you should see the normal rates to get a better comparison. If that still provides difficulty, then @bcbsncjlj who is also on a grandfathered plan can help with comparing those options.
