Final Bill and ETF

I cancelled my service on 2/28/25. I paid the final bill and ETF. I returned all of the equipment and received email confirmation that it was received. I called customer service and requested a receipt for my final bill with ETF and was told it was physically impossible to produce a receipt. I asked if this information would appear online and was told no. Yet when looking in the community forum, I see it stated that a final bill appears online no more than 28 days after cancellation.

As this is a legal document I am in need of, I need to verify which is correct; I’ll be able to access it online on 3/28/25, or it’s physically impossible to produce.

You returned equipment. Did you have DirecTV (satellite) or DirecTV via Internet (streaming-only, but similar in billing and equipment to satellite)?

DirecTV is not a store so they don't do receipts. It is a monthly service.

You get one bill a month showing the charges and payment. So when you cancel, the following bill shows the ECF and any other final one-time charges (Unbilled PPVs, NRF, any applicable taxes on those charges) to clear the account. You continue to receive a monthly statement until there are no more transactions (charges, payments, credits) on the account finishing out at a $0 balance for your records.

For DIRECTV via Internet, you won't receive a physical bill for cancellation fee as payments are charged through your card on file, @CAlberts. Final bill availability within 28 business days after cancellation is for satellite accounts and viewable on directv.com.

Thank you for sharing, @Juniper. Kesiah, DIRECTV Community Team

@Juniper I had streaming. DirecTV provided a wireless streaming device which has been returned. If I understand you correctly, I should see the ETF referenced under billing, online, somewhere around 3/28?
