You're always welcome @Psherwood16!

Let me share with you more details about the grace period. When your payment fails on the renewal date of your DIRECTV STREAM service, you'll have 15 days to correct/change the payment method before the subscription canceled on day 16.

Heads up: Make sure to update the payment method by day 15 before 7 p.m. ET, with a new credit card to avoid a cancellation of the account.

Feel free to reach out to us in case you need further asisstance, we'll be here to help.

Probably that day since you are pre-paying for the next month. Been a lot of subscribers that have had their accounts cancelled for non-payment. That is why I use PayPal for payment.

What’s the difference with PayPal?

You can tie your CC or bank draft via PayPal.

Hi @Psherwood16, we are here to clear any question you may have.

When a DIRECTV STREAM account tries to make a payment, and fails, the next day it goes to a 16 days grace period until been turned off.

PayPal is not taken as a payment method when you are signing up for a new DIRECTV STREAM service.

After the 1st months charges are paid, you can update the payment method to PayPal. The most remarkable difference is the number of attempts to make the payments, with Visa Credit Cards it will make 4 attempts, with other payment methods, it will make 10 attempts.

You can update the payment method following the links provided by our web page.

@DIRECTVhelp I just contacted DIRECTV and they told me that the grace period is 3 days.

I asked for a small extension. They denied it.

@map573828, the grace period depends on the account type. The 3-day grace period is for the DIRECTV STREAM No Annual Contract and DIRECTV STREAM NOW. The 16-day grace period is for DIRECTV Contract Lease (via Internet), DIRECTV Contract (via Internet), DIRECTV No Annual Contract (via Internet), DIRECTV Contract, DIRECTV STREAM No Contract (BYOD), and DIRECTV STREAM IAP via Amazon. DIRECTV is here for you. Luna, DIRECTV Community Specialist.

@DIRECTVhelp

To be clear: There is no way to grant a short extension beyond the 3 day period?

I offered to pay $50 in interest next week if that would help.

The other option besides the 3-day grace period, is the 16-day, however, it depends on your account type. We'll send you a DM to further assist you. Luna, DIRECTV Community Specialist.

Sorry for the confusion, the bulk of my answer was for DirecTV, not DIRECTV STREAM.

But you cannot negotiate interest. You deal with the billing options they provide.
