Payment Process

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience with my DirecTV account. I recently switched from your satellite dish service to DirecTV Stream, but I have encountered a significant issue regarding the payment options and service access.

I was disappointed to discover that my payment arrangement options with satellite service are not available for DirecTV Stream. This has left me frustrated and concerned that I made the wrong choice by switching to the streaming service.

Since my payday is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, 2024, I was told that I would have to wait until then to resume access to the channels. This delay is inconvenient and unacceptable, especially since I did not encounter similar issues with the satellite service.

I would appreciate it if you could clarify why the same payment options are unavailable with DirecTV Stream and whether there is any way to address this issue sooner. I would also like to know what can be done to restore my service before my next payday.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a prompt resolution.

This is the DTV sat forum, you may get a better answer posting in the DTV streaming forum.  DTV didn't start DTV streaming that was AT&T when they took over DTV and where separate services until AT&T sold both to TPG.

Streaming providers (DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu, YouTube TV) vs traditional pay TV providers (satellite, cable) have different billing models and options. That is about as much clarity we consumers get as to the "why".

So with streaming it is suggested to only have the account start when you know the money will be ready each month as there is no payment arrangement option like with satellite.

In the end these businesses are not extending credit/a loan, that is what credit cards are for.

(moved to DIRECTV STREAM for clarity)
