Refund requested for service not signed up for

Hello!


We cancelled DirectTV service (through AT&T) when NFL Ticket went to YoutubeTV last fall. Beginning in November 2023 we started being charged $79.20 per month for streaming.  Customer Service says we started this service online. We did not. This amount has been withdrawn every month since last November. Shame on us for not catching it sooner but we were out of the country and then we moved. We don't even live in the home where the streaming is connected.
The Customer Service representative was only allowed to refund 3 months. This is unacceptable for a service we never signed up for. I don't even have an account number for this service.
Please make this right and refund all of our money that has basically been stolen from us.
Who do I contact who has authority to refund all of our money?

Contact support. This is just a customer sharing "forum" of users and subscribers. No one here has access to accounts or billing. Good luck!

I would also contact the BBB and report the issue. That always gets a reply from the appropriate personnel.

DirecTV (and associated brands like DIRECTV STREAM) like most companies has a timeframe for billing disputes. That is 60 days, though in practice tends to be the last two bills and current cycle to date (which in some cases has been rounded to the full month, like it sounds they did for you).

You can try www.directv.com/notmyaccount since you say you never signed up at all. Beyond that there is a BBB complaint that gets sent to the corporate level.

With how long it has been be prepared there may not be a refund, or perhaps a partial one at best. But the online dispute and BBB are your last options to try and resolve in your favor. Good luck.
