Service suspended after just 2 days for non payment?
I got an email notice yesterday (Jan 15) that my payment (Jan 13) didn't go through this month. And when I turned on my DirecTV stream today (Jan 16) it said service would be suspended within 24 hours if I didn't update the payment method. I tried talking to chat support and he just kept saying "pay by tomorrow" over and over. When I asked if I could have a few days extension to fix this, he first said "update your payment method by tomorrow, and then make payment by Feb 13". That was confusing so I asked what that meant but he just went back to "pay by tomorrow".
Two questions:
1) 2 days notice before service interruption? Really?
2) No way to get an extension for a few days? Really?

Yeah, that's how they do it.

Correct. Make payments or seek alternative programming or service. Simple as that!

With DirecTV Stream, when you're ready to pay you can simply re-subscribe.

The credit card company put a temporary freeze on my account because of a fraudulent charge, so that's why the payment didn't do through. I guess I could use a different payment method this month, but I was hoping to avoid that by just getting an extension for 2-3 days when the freeze is supposed to be lifted. I guess that's not possible with DirecTV Stream?

I always use PayPal to avoid these situations.

Since DIRECTV STREAM doesn't have to deal with the hassle of returning equipment or physical install, it doesn't give you a big grace period like a traditional TV service of making payment. Easy on, easy off as it were.
