Streaming Directv Account
Back on 10 October 2024, the Direct TV representative I worked with at the time, swore that I wouldn't be forced into a 2 year contract. This is the only reason why I signed up to begin with, if I would have known I was being forced into a 2 year contract I would have never agreed.
My concern now is, when I canceled my subscription in December 2024 with Directv, the representative during that phone call said it wouldn't stop until January 10, 2025 and I would be required to pay $20 a month for 20 1/2 more months in a one lump fee of $410. I explained to them that when I signed up initially, the representative stated I wasn't entering into a 2 year contract.
Direct Tv shouldn't be charging me for something that wasn't agreed upon initially.
How, do I get them to stop trying to take this $410 out of my checking account?

DIRECTV STREAM which is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) service (Roku, Firestick, etc.) is no service agreement or service fees.
DirecTV via Internet is a model similar to DirecTV (satellite). That is provided equipment, 24 month service agreement, and similar billing.
You could try a BBB complaint to send this to the corporate level regarding expecting one service (no agreement) and getting the other (24 month service agreement). Depends on the Terms of Service (digital or paper copy) on what you may actually be obligated to. No matter what an agent says, read all the documentation.
