20 hour DVR and unlimited cloud DVR

The older DIRECTV STREAM accounts had the Grandfathered amount of 20 hour cloud DVR storage. After 20 hours, you are NOT granted any more cloud DVR storage.

However, if your DIRECTV STREAM account was created recently with a modern programming package, you should be granted unlimited cloud DVR.

What year did you sign up for DIRECTV STREAM, and what programming package do you have?

We just switched over to DIRECTV Streaming in December of 2023. Our whole apartment complex switched over. I have the "Ultimate Package" and I purchased the unlimited cloud DVR. We started recording programs and were told we were running out of space with the 20 hour DVR. We weren't given any information that once the 20 hour DVR fills up, will it switch to the cloud, or do we have to record to the cloud from the start.

All recording space (including the 20 hour storage) is cloud-DVR based. 

You should be granted unlimited cloud DVR. When you login to your account at directv.com, it should show under My Package whether you have unlimited storage or not.

Otherwise, I would call in and ask.
