Cannot log into new Direct TV Stream Account

I am an ATT customer that has two cell phones, internet, home phone and Uverse for the TV services in a bundle. I signed up a couple of days ago to migrate the TV account  to direct TV stream and there is supposed to be a two week trial to check out the direct TV stream.  However I cannot access the direct TV stream services on my log in. Whenever I log in it just loops back to the att.com sign in page instead of letting me watch TV or do anything on direct TV stream. I called tech service yesterday and today been on the phone almost four hours total now and no progress. I have changed passwords, tried logging into direct TV stream online, on the phone, and on the TV using the direct TV stream box, as well as changing the login ID on my original linked ATT.com website so it would be different than the direct TV stream log in and password but still does not work. I am still within the window I can just cancel it and send this box back but direct TV should be able to create a log in so that I can access the service that does not loop back to the att.com website.

I am having the same issue, and the suggested solution to get my specific DIRECTV STREAM ID simply gives me my ATT&T linked account email address as it is the same address.  What do we do to fix this?   I can't change the email address for all my AT&T accounts!

I was on with tech support last night and for half the day today and they finally decided that migrating my Uverse to direct TV stream was not going to work so they just cancelled that account and had me just sign up from scratch as a new direct TV stream customer with a new account, completely different email etc. and that worked.

Well now, that's not very helpful is it.  I'll have to try to see if I can contact support and have them change my email address, or worst case like for you cancel my account and start up a new one.

Yeah its not ideal. I spent an hour yesterday and four today changing passwords, even changed my log in ID for the ATT account so it would be different than the direct TV stream etc. all still had the same looping issue. Creating a completely new direct TV stream account with a new e-mail worked. You can go into your direct TV stream profile and change your contact e-mail to be different than your user ID e-mail and you can just create a throw away gmail e-mail or something, use that as your new log in e-mail on the new account and just set that e-mail to automatically forward to whatever regular personal e-mail you use and just don't ever use it for anything else and then use whatever your regular personal e-mail is as the contact e-mail on direct TV once you create the new account so you will at least not have to worry about ever missing any e-mails or anything. More steps of hassle to be sure, but after doing all that everything has been working fine no problems so far so I would definitely recommend that over trying to migrate an account especially if your keeping ATT for other services such as cell, home phone, internet etc.

@DIRECTVhelp - thanks, like marcusee I am not having an error, I simply can't log in.  If I go to stream.directv.com with ANY browser, it redirects to the AT&T sign in page.  I sign in using my account / password and it then redirects to a log out URL and then redirects me back to the AT&T sign in page.  I can literally watch the title go from "Login Screen" to "Logout Successful" to "Login Screen".

Note that I can successfully log into AT&T and see my AT&T accounts, but if I try to say manage my DVR from my stream account it does the exact same thing, tries to log me in, logs me out back to log in page.

I'm fairly comfortable in saying it's some issue with AT&T having multiple AT&T accounts tied to the same email address.

We want to make sure this issue is fixed. Please, follow the next steps to troubleshoot your DIRECTV STREAM login process:

1. Try to log in by using a different device.
2. Use a different browser.
3. Delete cookies and cache, and sing in on your DIRECTV STREAM account again.

@DIRECTVhelp - I've already tried that, I've tried this on multiple computers, tablets and phones, I've tried different browsers on all of them.  Even your DirecTV stream box which was just delivered literally 20 minutes ago won't sign in.  This is not a browser problem or a device problem this is purely an AT&T service issue due to multiple services tied to a single account.

@DIRECTVhelp - Further comment, turns out this is a known issue for months and apparently AT&T / DirecTV have done nothing to fix it see Existing Issue Due To Multiple Accounts. (Scroll to the bottom) I will contact support, have them cancel my account and then create a brand-new account not linked to any other AT&T accounts.  It's 2022 this stuff isn't that hard; I program for a living.

It is a problem that some users have encountered. 

I have a single account identify with AT&T covering cell, internet, U-Verse, and DirecTV Now/AT&T TV Now/AT&T TV/DirecTV Stream.  (I'm not quite sure how long it will take DirecTV to get their own accounting system set up so they don't piggyback on AT&T's, but a year plus however long it was know that there was going to be a spin off before it actually happened seems like it should be long enough.)  I have no problems with this, with all those services going back 5+ years.  There have been some issues with my account in the past (years ago) when AT&T went through different cycles of what format a user ID needed to be - must be an email address/can't be an email address/must look like an email address, but doesn't necessarily need to be one - at one point when migrating between formats, I did need Support to intervene, but they did successfully.  I don't know what they are requiring for people signing up now, but my current user ID is not an email address (real or just in format).

It's not clear what the cause of the problem is, but many that have reported it in the past had a DirecTV account (generally no longer active) and that seemed to be involved.  However, as I noted, I have both U-Verse and DirecTV Stream on the same account (yes, it doesn't make much sense) and I can use the same account credentials to access both, so it isn't simply having 2 different video services.  (I actually had 3 at one point when ATT WatchTV still existed, again with no problems.)  In any case, as you note, this has been a problem for some people for a long time, and it would seem that they should have figured it out by now.

If you can change your user ID to something other than an email address, you might give that a try and see if it helps.

Since this is almost a year-old post, you need to provide more detail. AT&T and DirecTV are now 2 separate companies. That took place over a year ago. What AT&T credentials? Streaming credentials? Wireless credentials? Are you a DirecTV Stream subscriber? When was the last time you used the service?
